Many PDFs never set document metadata. Missing title/author is normal for scans.
What do the page dimensions mean?
They are the first page’s width × height in points (72 pt ≈ 1 inch). Letter is about 612 × 792.
Does this work on encrypted PDFs?
Some encrypted files can be opened for reading if permissions allow; password-locked files may fail. Unlock them locally first.
