pdfintoword.com is an independent, solo-built site with one job: help you move content between PDF and Word without handing your file to a stranger's server to do it.

Why this exists

Most "PDF to Word" sites ask you to upload your file (a contract, a resume, an ID scan, whatever you have) to their server, convert it there, and send it back. That's a real problem if the document has anything sensitive in it. Every tool on this site instead runs the conversion in your browser, on your device, using JavaScript. Nothing you open here is sent anywhere. See the privacy policy for the specifics.

What it can and can't do

This site is built to be honest about tradeoffs rather than promise a perfect one-click fix for everything. Insert as Object and Insert as Image keep a PDF looking exactly right inside Word but don't make its text editable. The PDF to Word converter does the opposite: it extracts editable text but drops columns, tables, images, and the original layout. No tool here claims to do OCR, remove watermarks, or losslessly convert a complex, multi-column PDF into a pixel-identical editable Word document, because no tool, free or paid, actually does that reliably.

How it's built

This is a solo, independent project, not a company, and there's no team behind it. The heavy lifting is done by well-established open-source libraries running entirely in your browser: pdf.js for reading and rendering PDFs, pdf-lib for creating and editing them, and JSZip for building the .docx files the Word converter produces. None of them phone home with your files.
